Drone Pilot / Operations Manager – France
Description and objectives
We are currently preparing the deployment of our first long-distance drone delivery route in
France (Nord-Isère). As Operations Manager, your role will be two-fold:
Setup and daily operation of delivery routes:
- Hire and manage drone operators and safety pilots,
- Train staff according to training guidelines,
- Organise daily delivery operations,
- Ensure safety and quality is being measured, met and improved throughout daily operations,
- Assess weather conditions and coordinate with airspace actors,
- Follow and document checklists and standard (and contingency/emergency) operating procedures,
- Inspect and maintain the UAS,
- Charge and prepare batteries for the operations.
Preparation of necessary approvals (in coordination with our Head of Operations):
- Prepare and review documents for operation approval (SORA methodology) from DSAC,
- Follow up on approval process,
- Prepare and follow coordination protocols with airspace actors,
- Implement and revise operational procedures with a focus on safety,
- Select takeoff and landing sites for drone delivery operations,
- Set up required infrastructure for the delivery routes.
Requirement skills
Qualifications:
- Accredited drone pilot for Specific category of operations from one EASA country AND/OR manned aviation license,
- Experience with the SORA process in France,
- Operations management training or experience,
- Experience in manned aviation.
Skills:
- Highly organised, independent, and detail-oriented,
- Happy to take initiative and come up with their own ideas,
- Flexible to ever-changing demands of the startup environment,
- Proficient in French (oral and written),
- Comfortable communicating in English,
- Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
Start date: May 2022
Duration: 6 months (possibility to prolong)
