Electrical and Embedded Engineer

Position description and objectives

We are looking for an Electrical and Embedded Engineer to design and build the architecture of the next generation of RigiTech drone systems. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, software developers, production technicians and product owners to create the safest and highest performing aerial robotics systems in the world!

Responsibilities and duties:

In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, prototype and test electronic circuits (hardware) for drones, ground stations, test benches or other products
  • Write and maintain embedded code to run on RigiTech’s hardware
  • Improve the integration of different subsystems: communications, autopilot, onboard computers, power modules, peripheral sensors
  • Design and implement system architectures to Increase robustness, redundancy and reliability
  • Prepare for and lead certification efforts on electronic products

Required qualifications and skills

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field
  • 2-5 years experience in hardware design in an industrial setting
  • Experience with certification of electronic products, including EMC testing, radio emissions

Technical skills: 

  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, prototyping, manufacturing and validation
  • Embedded software development experience in C/C++
  • Good understanding of modern software development practices, version control, git

Soft skills:

  • Highly organised, independent, and detail-oriented,
  • Happy to take initiative and come up with their own ideas,
  • Flexible to ever-changing demands of the startup environment,
  • Proficient in French (oral and written),
  • Comfortable communicating in English,
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment.
