FINANCE OFFICER

RigiTech is an exciting high-tech startup developing a fully-integrated, inter-city drone delivery solution. It enables universal access to goods for communities and businesses through efficient drone-based deliveries. Started in September 2018, we are a dynamic young team of entrepreneurs dedicated to creating technology for the service of humanity.

Position description and objectives

As a growing startup, we are looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health of our company by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The ideal candidate should bring an entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative and pushing projects forward. This role offers significant growth potential, as we implement and enhance the smooth running of our growing organization. 

We are looking for a candidate familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. They should demonstrate interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. They should also have excellent organisational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions
  • Prepare balance sheets
  • Process invoices
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Update internal systems with financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Track bank deposits and payments
  • Assist with budget preparation
  • Review and implement financial policies
  • Work closely with the external accountants 
  • Implement new strategic processes and software as the company grows
  • Work with suppliers and customers from around the world, and handle tax- and customs-related issues related international shipping of parts and equipment
  • Handle the intricacies of payroll for an international workforce, including contractors and staff in countries around the world

Required qualifications and skills

Qualifications:

  • University degree in finance, accounting or economics
  • Experience in small business or startup workflows is a plus
  • Experience in a multinational business setting is a plus

Skills:

  • Highly organised, independent, and detail-oriented
  • Happy to take initiative and come up with their own ideas
  • Flexible to ever-changing demands of the startup environment
  • Strong ability with numbers, spreadsheets and financial tables
  • Comfortable communicating in both French and English
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment
